ATBO Debuts With The Beginning:開花
On Wednesday, the official YouTube channel of ATBO unveiled the official music video and audio of its EP and the songs included in the album. The seven members are leader Oh Junseok and members Ryu Junmin, Bae Hyunjin, Seok Rakwon, Jeong Seunghwan, Kim Yeonkyu, and Won Bin. They were supposed to debut as an eight-member group, but Yang Donghwa left them before the arrival of its EP. The new idol group had its showcase event at Yonsei University. They cheerfully introduced themselves and performed the album’s lead song, Monochrome (Color). The track is about their anticipation of a new beginning. It resonated with what the Chinese characters in the EP’s name, 開花, translates: blooming flower. The members revealed that the song’s main choreography, which they called a mosquito exterminating move, involves moving around while kicking their feet and waving their hands. Why Did Lee Donghwan Left ATBO?
ATBO’s debut occurred a month after Yang Donghwa exited the group following bullying accusations. Several people accused the then-trainee of misconduct toward his schoolmates in the past. The company reportedly contacted the school officials and acquaintances to confirm the issue and do fact-checking. After going through the process, IST Entertainment discovered that the claims were true. “Though some of the assertions turned out to be different from the truth, we found out there were students who were hurt because of Yang Donghwa’s immature and inappropriate remarks and actions. We were able to get through to some of the students, and Yang Donghwa offered a sincere apology to them in person,” the agency continued. From there, the agency decided to cross him out from the debut lineup. As of press time, the supposed member of ATBO has been spending his time repenting.
