There is no doubt that Avatar: The Way of Water is one of the most highly anticipated films this year, as it has been delayed far too many times. With Cameron’s advocacy that ‘CGI is not dead,’ The Way of Water is currently competing with Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick for Best Picture – Drama, according to CBR.com.

Top Gun: Maverick may have been Paramount’s highest-grossing domestic release and the first movie to top at box office on Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day Weekend, but Avatar: The Way of Water still has a chance to catch up upon its release this month.

The Golden Globes are set on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 to be hosted by Emmy-winning comedian and actor Jerrod Carmichael, as reported on Comicbook.com. Alongside Avatar: The Way of Water, Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and HBO’s House of the Dragon also made on the Golden Globe’s categories, which range from Best Motion Picture to Best Television Series.

Meanwhile, you can catch Top Gun: Maverick to stream on Paramount+ with Avatar: The Way of Water hitting theaters on December 16, 2022.
