David Harbour recently spoke to io9 where he pointed out that he hasn’t received a script yet for Thunderbolts. However, he did state that “the arc of the movie and how it functions…and it’s super cool. The idea is really cool.” Harbour then addressed how the lineup is unusual, but he’s eager to work with his new co-stars Wyatt Russell, Sebastian Stan, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
“I’ve loved Wyatt, and Sebastian and Julia’s characters throughout the universe,” he said. Harbour then continued by sharing a bit of director Jake Schreier’s plans for Thunderbolts. “What [Schreier] wants to do with Florence’s character is very interesting and how I factor into how we develop our relationship is very interesting,” he said. “And then when you see what Jake and Eric Pearson is trying to fashion, it’s really clever…So you have this movie that’s, you know, kind of ragtag.” So what can we expect in Thunderbolts? “It’ll be funny, it’ll be weird, it’ll be action. And then we’re also going to drop a bomb, which is cool,” Harbour said.
We’re loving how Harbour is describing Thunderbolts and we certainly can’t wait to see all the awesome characters working together soon. Thunderbolts will star Harbour as Alexei Shostakov aka Red Guardian, Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr aka Ghost, Wyatt Russell as John Walker aka U.S. Agent, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, and Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster. The film is currently scheduled for release on July 26, 2024.
