David Tennant recently attended Fan Expo Boston where he was asked about the Doctor Who 60th anniversary (via Twitter). Not surprisingly, the Good Omens actor discussed how much fun it was to work on the highly anticipated special episode. In addition to that, Tennant stated that the photos and videos shared from the set “aren’t even close to the whole story.”
So what exactly does David Tennant mean with that statement? The Jessica Jones star revealed that he and Catherine Tate had filmed with “many other people” on a closed set.
Although Tennant didn’t reveal who else will appear in the Doctor Who 60th anniversary, there are speculations that there will be more familiar faces in the episode. Whovians have been hoping that Matt Smith will be back as the Eleventh Doctor since he and Tennant both starred in the 50th anniversary special The Day of the Doctor. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether the House of the Dragon star will return for the special.
The Doctor Who 60th anniversary will be written by Russell T. Davies and is expected to feature Ncuti Gatwa as the Fourteenth Doctor. Neil Patrick Harris has been cast in a mystery role although there are speculations that he will play a new version of the Celestial Toymaker. Likewise, Yasmin Finney is expected to portray a new version of Rose.
