How Did David and Lucy Meet in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners?
David and Lucy met for the first time on a train. Prior to their meeting, David caught a glimpse of Lucy on his way to school. He noticed Lucy because of her hair color, which stood out among the crowd. So when they met on the train, David was already familiar with Lucy. In a matter of seconds, David recognized Lucy as a pickpocket. He caught her in the act just as she was about to steal his mark. Hence, Lucy decided to speak with David and find out what he was up to. Since he has nothing better to do, David urges Lucy to accept him as her partner in crime. To prove himself worthy, David used his Sandevista implant to help Lucy steal marks from one man to another. David found himself on a stretcher after overusing his implant nearly nine times. Sadly, Lucy made the incorrect decision of contacting an underground doctor who attempted to steal David’s Sandevista. One thing led to another, and David and Lucy wound up going to Ripperdoc’s underground clinic. After David had been fixed, Ripperdoc advised him not to use his Sandevista more than three times, despite his remarkable tolerance to it. Afterward, Lucy brought David to her apartment where they both shared a Lunar and Space-Themed Brain Dance (BD). Inside the BD, Lucy shared with David her dreams of going to the moon. While David thought they were having a great time together, Lucy had, in fact, set him up for her gang of edgerunners. Maine appears to have purchased the Sandevista from David’s mother, Gloria. Gloria, on the other hand, died and was unable to deliver the implant as agreed. Since Gloria’s death, David has been meddling in his mother’s affairs and ended up implanting the military-grade Sandevista on himself. Fortunately, Maine is a righteous and merciful man. He decided to let David join the gang after the latter proved himself worthy as a member of the group. Since then, David and Lucy have worked together from one job to the next.
Do David and Lucy End up Together in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners?
David and Lucy date in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, but do not end up together. Following the incident at the Arasaka tower, David died, leaving Lucy to carry out their dream alone. David and Lucy have feelings for one another. David could tell Lucy was different from other girls the moment he saw her. Truly, Lucy is a one-of-a-kind woman who left an indelible impression on David. Lucy was the first person to be able to lift David out of his grief over his mother’s death. She was also the first girl to ever tell him about her dreams. Not to mention the fact that she was the first girl to walk naked in front of him. David and Lucy grew closer as they worked together from one mission to the next. They eventually decided to act on their emotions and heed the obvious romantic tension between them. David decided to take Maine’s advice and sleep with Lucy. Lucy and David have since begun dating and living together. Unfortunately, their days of happiness were cut short when Maine and Dorio were killed in the incident with Tanaka. As a result, the gang was abruptly disbanded. Later, with Rebecca, Falco, and Kiwi’s help, David attempted to reestablish himself as a capable edgerunner. They also regrouped and began accepting jobs from Faraday, their fixer. Nonetheless, Lucy chose not to join David and stayed at home. David tried numerous times to persuade Lucy to come back and work alongside him. Even so, Lucy is adamant about not starting again because she needs to finish something first. As it turns out, Lucy is doing her best to keep David’s private information hidden from other Arasaka and Militech Corporation divers and netrunners. When Faraday and the Arasaka Corporation discovered Lucy’s secret, she knew David was in jeopardy. David was suffering from cyber psychosis at this point because his cyberware couldn’t handle the weight of his implants any longer. Faraday was successful in his devious plans against Lucy and David near the end of the story. Faraday held Lucy hostage while David received the cyber skeleton implant. David knew his time was up the moment he put the cyber skeleton implant in his body. His immunosuppressive medications have all been exhausted, and he is doing everything he can to avoid succumbing to cyber psychosis before he can save Lucy. Eventually, David was killed by Adam Smasher, one of Arasaka’s assets. Despite this, he was able to save Lucy from harm, provide her with a comfortable life, and give her the opportunity to travel to the moon and fulfill her dreams.
