In a recent interview with The Playlist, Ford was directly asked why he decided to join the MCU to which he responded by saying that he wants “to do some of the things” that he has not done before in his career. “Hey, look, I’ve done a lot of things. I now want to do some of the things I haven’t done,” he simply responded. When asked whether his upcoming MCU role will also involve him wearing a motion-capture suit to play the Red Hulk, he answered with a smile and a “zipped-lips” sign gesture.
It is really exciting to see Ford join the MCU in a significant role since, after all, he is an iconic actor and it’s always great to see someone of his caliber get involved in a franchise like this. After his involvement in the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises, this is certainly another big addition to his resume. While the details of his character’s involvement in Captain America: New World Order are under wraps, there have been speculations that he will turn into the Red Hulk just like in the comics although it hasn’t been confirmed at this point. Ford was certainly playing coy with the idea of the interview. Let’s just wait and see whether that is actually going to be the case. So far, Marvel Studios is tight-lipped about Ford’s potential involvement in other MCU projects such as Thunderbolts, which has been speculated due to the character’s namesake.
