TVLine confirms that Interview with the Vampire is getting a second season as AMC renewed the series before its premiere. Details about Season 2 have not yet been revealed but fans are already expecting the return of Sam Reid’s Lestat de Lioncourt and Jacob Anderson’s Louis de Pointe du Lac. There is also a possibility that Bailey Bass will be back as the child vampire Claudia.
AMC original programming chief Dan McDermott issued a statement regarding the Interview with the Vampire renewal. “The scope and breadth of this show, and what Mark and Rolin have delivered, is just stupendous,” McDermott said in the statement. “They have rendered the rich and vibrant world of Anne Rice’s Interview in a wonderful way, and we’re incredibly proud.” The renewal would be exciting news for the late Anne Rice, who passed away in December 2021. The author had been involved with the development of the series before her unfortunate passing due to complications of a stroke. Nevertheless, it’s great to see that the story of her beloved Lestat will be fully explored in the future. Interview with the Vampire is a “sensuous, contemporary adaptation of Rice’s revolutionary gothic novel” following Louis de Pointe du Lac, a former indigo plantation owner who meets the mysterious Lestat de Lioncourt who turns out to be a vampire. After turning Louis, the two become companions who worked together to create the child vampire Claudia. Interview with the Vampire will premiere on AMC on October 2, 2022. The second season has not yet been given an official release date.
