What Is The Desperate Hour About?
The Desperate Hour is about a newly widowed mother of two who is still reeling in from her loss. As she goes out for a run, she receives an emergency alert that the schools in her city are on lockdown mode. She learns that her young daughter is safe at her school. Meanwhile, her teenage son is part of the group taken in as a hostage by an unidentified individual. The woman named Amy (played by Naomi Watts) does everything she can to ensure her son’s safety. At one point, authorities question her about her son’s involvement in the situation. This leads Amy to make frantic calls on her phone to convince her son to stop whatever it is that he is doing. But later in the film, we learn that her son is actually innocent.
