Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury Episode 3 Recap
The episode starts with Miorine informing Suletta that she must win this duel. Otherwise, Suletta would be expelled and Miorine would be married off. However, Suletta was not keen on fighting in another duel. Suletta explained that she has a list of things she wants to do in school instead of fighting. Miorine was fuming as Suletta elaborated that she wants to make new friends, give them nicknames, study in the library, eat lunch on the roof, and go on dates. Miorine reminded her that she will be reinstated permanently if she wins the rematch against Guel. Miorine wanted to make a deal with Suletta wherein the latter would have to play her groom until she is able to escape to planet Earth. Elsewhere, Guel’s mobile suit was enhanced with a fifth-generation Decision Making Extension AI that can make composite Bayesian predictions from the last combat data. Guel was unhappy as it seems that they don’t believe he was skilled enough to have to rely on such technology. His dad, Vim Jeturk, was angry at Guel for behaving rather childishly. He told Guel to focus on winning the upcoming duel as a lot is at stake for them. The episode also revealed that Prospera is Suletta’s mother. Meanwhile, Vim confronted Prospera and asked her how she found out about the assassination plan, to which she responded that it is a trade secret. Sarius Zenelli was suspicious of Prospera Mercury, who was revealed to be a representative of the Shin Sei Development Corporation. Sarius ordered his son, Shaddiq, to keep a close watch on her. Shaddiq stated that she belonged to the Mercury Development Group, married someone in the field, and gave birth to Suletta. Now, Shaddiq needs to find intel on how Prospera gathered funds as there was no record of her registry as a mobile suit engineer. Later, Suletta was invited to the Dueling Committee Lounge where Shaddiq, Elan, and the rest would officiate the duel. Elan was asked to become the witness of the duel. Since this was Suletta’s first time taking part in a duel officially, she was a bit nervous about how to go about doing things. Elan guided her, and eventually, Suletta and Guel’s duel was officially confirmed. At the beginning of the match, Guel realized that the controls of his Darilbalde were hijacked by the newly-installed AI. The AI was making all the driving decisions for Guel and he was visibly irritated about it. As the battle progressed, the fire suppression systems of the arena got activated, neutralizing Aerial’s beam. Suletta was then pushed against the wall as Aerial’s weaponry was rendered ineffective. Meanwhile, Miorine figured that Vim has hacked the fire suppression mechanism to use it against Suletta. Miorine asked Elan to stop the duel because of unfair play, but he refused, so Miorine decided to take matters into her own hands. Miorine got into a mobile frame and decided to disable the fire suppression system herself. Now that Suletta’s weapons were working again, she launched an attack against the Darilbalde. Meanwhile, Guel was angry that he had no say in the battle. He went on to destroy the AI panel that was piloting the mobile suit. Guel took back control of the suit and fought back against Suletta. During the battle, Suletta could feel that Guel was fighting with a renewed determination and he was feeling stronger than before. As the battle ended, Suletta emerged victorious, but she approached Guel and praised his efforts. Seeing Suletta’s attitude, Guel was mighty impressed. Toward the end of the episode, Guel asked Suletta if she would marry him.
