TVLine has reported that Secret Invasion is now slated for release on Disney+ in 2023 instead of this year as previously announced. However, they didn’t provide any details regarding why the series has pushed its release window.
There are speculations that the reshoots might have something to do with its delay and it might not make it on time to air if Disney+ and Marvel will still push it for release later this year. You can also add to the fact that Marvel has She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and the second season of What If…? slated in their calendar for the rest of the year which might have already filled all the slots.
It is unfortunate to hear that the series is delaying its release as it means that we have to wait a little longer now to see what they have in store for Nick Fury’s next journey in the MCU as well as how they are going to adapt the infamous “Secret Invasion” storyline from the comics. On the bright side, the makers will have more time now to finish the series in its best version possible.
Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, and Don Cheadle are reprising their MCU roles in the series. They are joined by Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Killian Scott, Carmen Ejogo, Christopher McDonald, and Dermot Mulroney.
