The Summer I Turned Pretty Crew: Who are the Creatives Behind the Scenes?

The series is based on the book with the same title written by Jenny Han. Han also co-wrote the screenplay for all of the episodes of the series, working with other writers for select episodes like Becca Gleason, Marty Scott, Gabrielle G. Stanton, and Jenny Zang. There are three confirmed directors for The Summer I Turned Pretty. Erica Dunton will be directing three episodes while Jeff Chan and Jesse Peretz will be directing two episodes each.

The Summer I Turned Pretty is an original series based on the book written by Jenny Han. The story revolves around Belly, whose family spends the summer vacation with their family friends for as long as she can remember. Things are different for Belly this year, for she has begun to grow into a young teenager who finally understands that she is pretty. The boys around her, who only used to see her as a little sister, finally notice the change and start to see her in a different light.

If the show stays true to the book it is based on, we will get to know Belly better throughout the series, creating a foundation that will hopefully expand to season 2 and season 3. The Summer I Turned Pretty is part of a trilogy, and if things go as planned, the franchise may grow to be as big as To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.
