What is Bill Murray’s Role in Ant-Man 3? Krylar Explained
If you’ve come across the name Krylar before in the comics, it’d definitely make you think twice how the character would be appearing on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania with Bill Murray playing the role wearing an intricate blue suit. From the comics, Krylar is a scientist with green skin from the Micro-Verse and he only appeared a few times, notably in The Incredible Hulk #156 in 1972. There, he was killed immediately in the same issue he was introduced in, quite a small character to be on Ant-Man 3, right? What makes it even interesting is that Bill Murray will reportedly play the character Krylar, a veteran actor with tons of accolades under his belt known for his roles in Ghostbusters, Charlie’s Angels, Meatballs, Tootsie, Kingpin, Lost in Translation, Rushmore, Hyde Park on Hudson, and many more. What good does it do for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania to have Bill Murray play an infinitesimal character from the comics? Simple. It gives Marvel Studios the flexibility to include him in the narrative with so little known about the role.

Marvel Studios could easily make the role matter in the story especially with a veteran actor playing it. Not only will it give the studio flexibility on the character, it would also give Murray his own touch on it and own the role as to how he would want it to be. Many are already excited to what Bill Murray could bring into the table for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania simply for being known as a great actor and comedian. Note that all the Ant-Man movies are hilarious so seeing Bill Murray on the roster sets the vibe already. Other than what Bill Murray could bring into the MCU is that his casting proves how powerful Marvel Studios is. It is as if the studio could cast whoever they want, may it be veterans or new ones, much like their inclusion of Jeff Goldblum in Thor: Love and Thunder as the Grandmaster.
