Who is Elsa Bloodstone in Werewolf by Night?
Appearing in Marvel’s special presentation, Werewolf by Night, is Laura Donnelly making her debut as Elsa Bloodstone, a name that rings a thousand bells for those who read the Marvel comics. Elsa Bloodstone first appeared in the comics in Bloodstone, a mini-series, in 2001 written by Andy Lanning and Dan Abnett. She is a monster hunter, daughter of the famous Ulysses Bloodstone and sister of Cullen Bloodstone. She also appeared in various teams such as the Midnight Sons, Nextwave, Fearless Defenders, and Doom’s Avengers.

To start, Elsa Bloodstone is a human who is an expert marksman. But with the Bloodgem power she inherited from her father, Ulysses, she was bestowed with regenerative healing abilities, superhuman endurance, strength, durability, and speed. She wears a fragment of the Bloodgem, the Bloodstone in Werewolf By Night, as a choker. What makes her stand out is that her blood, when consumed by a vampire, kills the latter. How Will Elsa Bloodstone Fit In The MCU?
Given the arrival of vampires in the MCU being inevitable as Marvel’s Blade has been lined up for release in Phase Five, Elsa Bloodstone in the MCU will be an important character in the franchise moving forward as she is a well-known monster-hunter. In Werewolf by Night, the Bloodstone ended up in her possession after defeating her step-mother, Verussa, in a bloody fight after the latter provoked the transformation of Jack Russell into a werewolf. She puts her down but it is Man-Thing who finished the job. Now, with the Bloodstone in her possession, by default, Elsa Bloodstone is now the leader of the monster hunters because technically, she won the night.
